Abstract
I couldn’t have planned it better – and I didn’t. As a young girl I had my game plan but then life and opportunity got in the way. Looking back on my career it couldn’t have worked out better but it is different. I love the job I’m doing and my two daughters are now at university starting to set their own career paths with the choices they are making. As well as working as Head of Marketing for Cambridge Enterprise I also sit on the board of Anglia Ruskin University and Chair the Cambridge Meridian Academy Trust. In 2001 I was Cambridge Business Woman of the Year. Early on in my career I learnt to recognise opportunity when it presented itself and to make my own luck. Are there lessons that I can pass on?
