Abstract
Boris Uspenskij is one of the greatest Russian philologists of our time. He is the author of such noted works as The Semiotics of the Russian Icon, The Principles of Structural Topology, and The Linguistic Situation in Kievan Rus and Its Importance for the Study of the Russian Literary Language.
