Abstract
While feature films, documentaries and newsreels repeatedly show stereotypical illustrations of South Asian society, amateur films often contribute towards an ethnographic representation of it. This seminar considers different film aesthetics and identifies visual anthropological methods employed when learning about South Asian society.
