Abstract
The the importance of satellites in the context of meeting needs of secure and resilient networks will be explored. Then various means of meeting the expanding needs will be highlighted. Finally satellite technologies, systems and techniques which enable fulfilment of the needs and demands will be examined.
Dr Tanvir Ahmad is Product Development Manager for Defence & Security at EADS Astrium Ltd. Tanvir has responsibility for military hosted payloads, business development covering research & development, product planning and associated technical management.
Tanvir has over 16 years of experience on military satellite communication systems. He is renowned in the military Satcom community as an expert on military payloads. He was the technical customer responsible for military payloads and associated ground segments on Skynet 4 and Skynet 5.
