How did India and Pakistan feature in commercial, governmental and ethnographic visual records made post Independence and what were the political agendas that influenced their representation? This seminar explores such questions and includes a selection of British, American, Indian and Pakistani visual records that are discussed in a comparative analysis with contemporary British and Indian history text books.
