Abstract
Over the past few years Britain’s butterflies have had to put up with real extremes of weather everything from the hottest spring to the wettest June on record. Based on research carried out with the BCN Wildlife Trust, I investigate how well butterflies cope with microclimatic change on isolated reserves and how temperature can influence the behaviour and breeding success of some of our rarest species.
