With a global population of middle-class consumers set to near five billion by 2030, the tight boundaries of our planet will tie our destinies ever closer. Unprecedented challenges in resource management, health, development and ecosystem services to name but a few will carve the landscape of the 21st century. Fed by knowledge, understanding, vision, technological advances and all forms of collaboration, novel solutions and swift, collective action are needed to address these escalating challenges.’
