The second annual Winton Symposium will be held on 30th September at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge. The topic for this year is “Materials Discovery” and will again bring together leading scientists from around the world to explore some of the recent breakthroughs that reveal just how unexpected the physical world turns out to be. Speakers will cover a wide gamut of topics from ‘electronics’ through to ‘life sciences’, with the format similar to the Inaugural event on “Energy Efficiency” which drew a large audience of researchers and industrialists from a range of disciplines from Cambridge and further afield.

There is no registration fee for the Symposium and complementary lunch will be provided, however due to the large demand for places, participants are required to register on-line for the event. Follow link to find full programme and registration details http://www.phy.cam.ac.uk/materialsdiscovery

The symposium is organised by Prof. Sir Richard Friend, Cavendish Professor of Physics and Director of the Winton Programme for the Physics of Sustainability and Dr. Nalin Patel the Winton Programme Manager – http://www.winton.phy.cam.ac.uk

This talk is part of the Winton Discussions series.
