Infectious Disease Dynamics

This talk is concerned with stochastic modelling and analysis of epidemics, and focuses on models for which some analytic progress is possible. We discuss current research in this area and outline some open problems for future work. The first half of the talk, given by Frank Ball, is concerned with the short-term behaviour of emerging epidemics and the second half, given by Tom Britton, is concerned with the long-term behaviour of established epidemics.
