The relevance of botanic garden greenhouses in the modern era

Abstract
Our first speaker this term Alex Summers is the Glasshouse Supervisor at Cambridge University Botanic Gardens, he has trained and worked in gardens and glasshouses both in the UK and the the USA . He will consider the relevance of glasshouses in the modern botanic garden, giving an overview of their history and considering their value in the current era.
The first talk of this term is kicking off on THURSDAY 30TH JAN * and will now be held in Pembroke College Room N7. The majority of talks this term are going to focus on the issues of biodiversity and deforestation.
