The next St Catharine’s Political Economy Seminar in the series on the Economics of Austerity, will be held on Wednesday 19 February 2014 Robert Chote will give a talk on ‘The crisis, the consolidation and Britain’s public finances’. The seminar will be held in the McGrath Centre at St Catharine’s College from 6.00-7.30 pm. All are welcome.

ROBERT CHOTE is Chairman of the Office for Budget Responsibility, the UK’s official fiscal watchdog. Previously he served as Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, as an advisor to senior management at the International Monetary Fund and as Economics Editor of the Financial Times.

CONTENT : The seminar will discuss the evolution of the UK’s public finances since the outbreak of the recession and the financial crisis, and the prospects for the next five years.
