What is WOW ?

WOW (Women of the World Festival) Cambridge is a festival that celebrates the achievements of women and girls and also looks at the obstacles women face across the world. There is an arts and science programme, and a whole range of talks and debates on topics ranging from fashion and feminism, quotas, domestic violence, race, sex, food, women bishops and more in sessions for women, men, boys and girls.

WOW -Cambridge is an opportunity for Cambridge to share its ideas and highlight our local priorities for promoting awareness and understanding of issues affecting women here and around the world.

The WOW -Cambridge festival will be taking place on 26th October 2014 and 6-8th March 2015.

The bigger picture

WOW -Cambridge builds on the success of the WOW 2014 Festival at the Southbank Centre. This year’s programme featured wonderful talks, workshops and performances, from Dame Vivienne Westwood, Malala, Maggie Aderin-Pocock, WoW Question Time, speed-mentoring with Maxine Peake, under-10s feminist corner, the politics of afro hair, Shami Chakrabarti from Liberty, Beyonce dance class, Baroness Doreen Lawrence and Ruby Wax, to Katie Price … something for everyone!
