Undine Zimmer will give a reading at 5 pm in the Green Room at Gonville and Caius College. She will read from her book: Nicht von schlechten Eltern – Meine Hartz-IV-Familie (No bad parents – My Hartz-IV Family).

Undine Zimmer was born in Berlin in 1979 and studied at the University there. She then worked as a journalist for the German newspaper Die Zeit. In 2012 she was nominated for the Henri-Nannen essay prize. She published her first book in 2013, in which she discusses her childhood in a family living off social welfare.

The reading will be held in German, but there will, of course, be an opportunity for discussion in English afterwards.

This talk is part of the Department of German and Dutch series.
