‘The Triumph of Democracy and the Eclipse of the West’

Ewan Harrison is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Political Science at Rutgers University, USA . He completed his PhD at the University of Bristol in 1999, and was Hedley Bull Junior Research Fellow at St Anne’s College, Oxford 2001-2004. His new book “The Triumph of Democracy and the Eclipse of the West” (Palgrave, 2014) co-authored with professor Sara Mitchell of the University of Iowa, offers as synthesis of the End of History and Clash of Civilizations theses for the 25th anniversary of the end of the Cold War, and explores the paradox of the global spread of democracy and capitalism in an era of Western decline.
