Abstract

The Chinese banking industry has seen historic changes in the scale, profitability and risk levels of its organisations over the past 35 years of reform.

Join Mr Dong Wenbiao, Chairman of China Minsheng Bank, as he identifies and discusses six key areas that the Chinese banking industry should develop to resolve the issues it still faces, including the need for further liberalisation, improvements in corporate governance and the encroaching threat of internet finance.

He formerly served as the Chairman and President of Haitong Securities and as a Director of the Bank of Communications.
