Abstract
Lethal (2) giant disc (Lgd) belongs to a protein family that is present in all metazoans and involved in endosomal trafficking of transmembrane and secreted proteins. Loss of its function results in the activation of the Notch signalling pathway in a ligand independent manner. In my seminar I will discuss in which endosomal process Lgd is involved, which other signalling pathways might be affected and how the Notch pathway is activated upon loss of function of lgd.
