- 📍 Venue: MR14, Centre for Mathematical Sciences
Abstract
Optimisation techniques are used across a wide range of industries to improve designs and make better business decisions. In this talk, a MathWorks engineer will demonstrate best practices for setting up and solving optimisation problems, including how to: Solve linear, nonlinear, and mixed-integer optimisation problems; Tune solver options to increase performance; Use parallel computing to speed up the optimisation process. The presentation will walk you through three case studies of optimisation applications in industry: barge container ship routing, financial portfolio optimisation and engine calibration.
Series This talk is part of the CMS Seminars from business and industry series.
