Abstract
At this session we will give an overview of Variable Rate Sequential Monte Carlo and its application to the task of jointly transcribing and tempo tracking in musical audio. Results on real and synthetic data will be presented which show a the good tracking ability of these algorithms in this problem domain and future work looking at improvements to the technique and extensions into polyphony will be discussed
