Energy is essential to every aspect of our economic and social well-being. Today, the world faces two big challenges: climate change and security of energy supplies. To tackle the dual problems of the declining energy resources and the threat of climate change we need a mix of new technologies to generate ‘clean’ energy and an updated energy infrastructure that can cope with future demand. The Horizon Seminar entitled ‘Energy: What Does the Future Hold?’ will showcase latest research in energy technology and policy. Leading experts from a range of disciplines will address key issues and detail the latest scientific advances and new thinking in this field.
