Abstract
Issues of imperial and national representations of Ceylon / Sri Lanka’s cultural and economic traditions and of recent military conflict are discussed in this lecture in relation to specific cinematic narratives, from colonial documentaries to TV reportages. (Participants might find some of the images disturbing.)
