Abstract
Blockchain has captured the imagination of Silicon Valley and Wall Street alike, leaving behind its origins as the underlying technology of Bitcoin. This talk will emphasise the power of a distributed database for decentralising markets and undermining the control of existing middlemen. In this talk, I shall introduce what Blockchain is, how it works, and its potential applications. After the talk, you should obtain a fundamental understanding of Blockchain.
