Variational constructions of minimal surfaces
- 👤 Speaker: Daniel Ketover (Princeton)

- 📍 Venue: CMS, MR14
Abstract
Free boundary minimal surfaces are natural variational objects studied first by Courant in the 40s. On the other hand, very few explicit examples are known in the simplest setting of the round three ball. I’ll describe some new high genus examples coming from variational principles.
