It’s not taught in the school and yes, unlike grades, Happiness can’t be pursued; if we can’t master the ability to be happy where we are right now, we can’t ever be happy reaching where we want to be. Maybe, what we want to have is very tiny compared to what we already have. When we are recalling some past good experiences, or would be good experiences in the future, understand that we are not living well right now. Very often we mix up happiness with pleasure, which is so momentary.

We don’t have control on the stimulus and most of the situations, but none can take the ability for us to choose whatever response we like or how we will interpret the situation. Everything can be taken away from us except the freedom to choose. If we want to self-talk in any situation, we can look at it from so many different perspectives; then why do we talk from the only perspective that makes us sad? Just being alive beats all the reasons in being happy, doesn’t it? Is it that only we are alive? Or we have much more things to be happy. How many things are happening right in our lives? But, we used to the goods and focus on the imperfections. For taking control of our lives, asking right understanding & asking the right question is very important. Living a life with full of gratitude and mastering the habit of appreciating before we lose what we already have, implies the game of life. Health & relationship are the centre point for taking any decision about life. Good relationship keeps us happy & healthy; happiness is closely connected to health- this we will understand when we will partially damage our health running after career. If we understand this today, then we will maintain our health.

All the problems in the world mostly because of the wars inside the mind. We focus more on materialistic value/possession and less on mind/inner values; all basis of pain/pleasure in mental level. If we start focusing more on the mind, many of our created problems will be solved. Everyone wants to be happy. But, if we have jealousy, hatred, obsessive desires and if we wish bad for others, if we harm/cheat/exploit others, how we can be happy? We are surely not looking at the world the way we want it to look at us. What I do, it has an impact on the society; what society does, it has an impact on children. What one does, it affects all and what all does, it leaves an effect on one. In many occasions, ego doesn’t allow us to explore the reality and act of being students humble the ego.

Happiness has a ripple effect. It’s high time we should have developed a sense of global responsibility. A simple caring, spirit of forgiveness, feeling of compassion or act of gratitude can create endless ripple all around us and the world needs many more happy people. Let’s love the people and use the things because the opposite doesn’t work.
