The ESA Gaia mission is now in its 4th year of operations, and DPAC (the Data Processing and Analysis Consortium) is preparing to publish the second Gaia Data Release (GDR2, expected in April 2018). We will present an overview of the Gaia Mission status, and will describe the expected contents and precision of GDR2 , and illustrate how to access the data. We will then open up the session for a discussion on how GDR2 will impact Exoplanet science, and how Exo-Cam might want to prepare.

This talk is part of the Exoplanet Seminars series.
