The bi-projective variety

X0 Y0 ² + ... + X3 Y3 ² = 0

displays unusual behaviour in the context of Manin’s conjecture. The talk will look at Manin’s conjecture more generally, and describe what has been proved for this particular variety. This is joint work with Tim Browning.

This talk is part of the Number Theory Seminar series.
