DESCRIPTION:Two four-dimensional manifolds are said to be CP2 - stably dif
 feomorphic if one can take connected sums of either manifold with copies t
 he complex projective plane\, with either orientation\, after which they b
 ecome diffeomorphic.  I will explain how to classify manifolds up to this 
 relation.  I may also discuss the closely related question of stabilisatio
 ns with copies of S2 x S2.
