DESCRIPTION:Algorithm development for the numerical computation of integra
 ls with highly oscillatory integrands has come to full fruition only recen
 tly. Indeed\, a focus of the talk\, what is now called the Filon Paradigm\
 , was not realised in its full generality until the 90s. We will look at t
 he asymptotic theory of highly oscillating integrals\, the Filon method\, 
 and derivative-free alternatives. If time permits\, there will also be som
 e discussion of the practical implementation of Filon-type rules in softwa
 re.
