DESCRIPTION:Generally when we calculate scattering amplitudes\, we work wi
 th objects such as momentum and polarisation 4-vectors.  However\, by work
 ing directly with spinor variables the scattering amplitudes of massless p
 articles can be expressed in very simple and symmetric forms.  This is the
  basis of the spinor helicity formalism.  The goal of my talk is to give a
 n overview of the formalism\, and if time allows I will discuss how it can
  be extended to deal with massive particles.
