DESCRIPTION:The modelling of cloud and haze particle formation remains a c
hallenging\, but exciting\, topic for exoplaneteers to explore.\nIn this t
alk\, I will review the observational evidence for cloud particle coverage
in exoplanet atmospheres.\nI will discuss the different approaches to mod
elling cloud formation in current research\, from idealised 1D equilibrium
models\, to sophisticated 3D microphysical efforts. I present some recent
results coupling our microphysical model to 3D global circulation models
(GCMs) of hot Jupiter atmospheres and also lava/magma terrestrial planets.
In addition\, I will present post-processing/observational comparisons of
our model using Monte Carlo radiative transfer.\nLastly\, I will speculat
e on the future prospects of observing\, and the importance of fundamental
physics in a holistic understanding of their formation processes.
