DESCRIPTION:A Frobenius group is a transitive permutation group in which o
 nly the identity fixes two points. Finite Frobenius groups have a remarkab
 le property: the elements that fix no points together with the identity fo
 rm a normal subgroup. I will explain the proof of this classical result\, 
 which\, I believe\, is a convincing illustration of the power of character
  theory. If time allows\, I will go on discuss deeper structural propertie
 s of these groups.
