SUMMARY:Neural Coding and Microstimulation Studies of Motion Detection in
the Primate Visual System - Nicolas Masse\, Dept of Physiology\, McGill Un
 iversity

CONTACT:Greg Jefferis
DESCRIPTION:Nick Masse from Erik Cook's lab at McGill will be presenting s
ome of his recent work on visual motion processing in monkey area MT (Midd
le Temporal cortex). This will include an examination of the effect of sp
ike phase on sensory encoding and how this correlates with behavior during
a motion detection task. The second part will examine the use of electri
cal microstimulation to activate specific regions of visual cortex.\n
