 eries proudly presents Dr. Nancy Ratner\n\nDr. Ratner is interested in the
  brain in Neurofibromatosis type 1 and Rasopathies\, and in peripheral ner
 ve tumors that occur in the Neurofibromatoses\, NF1 and NF2.  She uses gen
 omics\, animal\, and cell culture models to study neurofibroma formation a
 nd neurofibroma therapeutics. Ratner received her bachelor's degree from B
 rown University\, her doctorate from Indiana University\, Bloomington (dur
 ing which time she was a student in the Neurobiology Course at MBL)\, and 
 was a postdoctoral fellow at Washington University in St. Louis.  A member
  of the faculty at the University of Cincinnati from 1987 – 2004\, she i
 s currently a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics\, Cincinnati Child
 ren’s Hospital\, University of Cincinnati\, and the Program Leader for C
 ancer Biology and Neural Tumors Program in the Cancer and Blood Disorders 
 Institute where she also co-Leads the Rasopathy Program and holds the Beat
 rice C. Lampkin Endowed Chair in Cancer Biology. She has served on numerou
 s national and international review panels and authored over 100 peer-revi
 ewed manuscripts and 30 reviews.  She was awarded the von Recklinghausen A
 ward in 2010\, and received a Jacob K. Javits NIH Neuroscience Investigato
 r Award  in 2014.
