DESCRIPTION:This is the third in a new series of lectures given by female 
 Fellows of Trinity\, past and present\, to mark the 40th anniversary of wo
 men’s admission to the College. \n\nProfessor Joan Lasenby was one of th
 e first cohort of female undergraduates at Trinity in 1978\, where she rea
 d Mathematics. Her PhD was in Radio and Molecular Studies at the Cavendish
  Laboratory. She has held posts at Louisiana State University\, Trinity Ha
 ll and Newnham College\, Cambridge\, and was elected a Fellow of Trinity i
 n 2001. In this event Professor Lasenby will consider the role of geometry
  in engineering\, in particular the usefulness of \ngeometric algebra in t
 he industry. \n\n
