DESCRIPTION:We study one-dimensional decaying Burgers turbulen
ce with the covariance of initial profile
of G
aussian-distributed velocities decaying as inverse
square of the distance. Combining the
heurist
ic replica trick of statistical mechanics with ins
ights from the random matrix theory we
reveal
a freezing phase transition with decreasing viscos
ity. In the low-viscosity phase the
one-point
probability density of velocities becomes non-Gaus
sian reflecting a spontaneous
one step replica
symmetry breaking in the associated statistical m
echanics problem. We
obtain the low orders vel
ocity cumulants analytically which favourably agre
e with numerical
simulation. The presentation
