DESCRIPTION:In recent years\, the LHC has been turned into an impressive p
recision machine by experiment and by theory. For Higgs physics\, effectiv
e theories have been established as the appropriate framework to describe
experimental searches for non-standard effects. In addition to their gener
ality they also account for effects from well-known extended Higgs and gau
ge sectors. I will show recent results from Run II and discuss their impac
t and limitations. Finally\, I will discuss future analysis strategies rel
evant for Higgs physics at the LHC.\n\nThe slides of the presentation can
 be found "here":http://www.hep.phy.cam.ac.uk/~conference/Plehn_21_02_2019.
