DESCRIPTION:In its original form\, the AdS/CFT correspondence
is motivated by string theory. An open question is
whether dualities between gravity and quantum fie
ld theories are valid more generally than within s
tring theory. Based on the holographic principle\,
recently there has been a lot of interest in mapp
ing the information properties of black holes to c
oncepts from quantum information theory. This requ
ires to define quantum information concepts such a
s computational complexity also within quantum fie
ld theory. This is a non-trivial task since these
concepts now have to be defined in infinite-dimens
ional Hilbert spaces. We discuss recent proposals
and examples in this context.
