DESCRIPTION:The seminar will present findings from several research projec
 ts conducted in education programmes supported by Sightsavers in Sub-Sahar
 an Africa. A research project in Malawi measured the prevalence of disabil
 ity in children using the UNICEF/Washington Group Child Functioning Module
 \; projects in Senegal\, Sierra Leone and Kenya explored the experiences o
 f inclusive education among  children with disabilities\, their teachers a
 nd their careers\, while a project in Senegal collected data on the increm
 ental costs of inclusive education in mainstream schools.   The seminar wi
 ll present research findings and discuss their implications for practice a
 nd future research.
