DESCRIPTION:I will sketch how to compute Brauer character values of a grou
 p of Lie type in its defining characteristic. The method uses weight multi
 plicities of irreducible representation of the underlying algebraic group\
 , parameterizations of semisimple conjugacy classes of    the finite group
 s\, and ad hoc arguments to relate the resulting table with the ordinary c
 haracter table of the finite group.
