DESCRIPTION:Global health partnerships have proliferated over the last dec
 ades\, forging new links between governments\, civil society\, internation
 al organisations and the private sector. What is their role in global heal
 th\, and what does the future hold? \n\nOur speaker: \nDr Neil Squires has
  had a varied international career\, from being a District Medical Officer
  in Malawi\, training in Public Health in the North West\, then working wi
 th the Department for International Development\, covering West and North 
 Africa\, then based in Bangladesh\, followed by Brussels\, with the Europe
 an Commission working on global health workforce issues\, then Mozambique 
 prior to 3 years as Head of Health at DFID. Neil is currently Director of 
 Global Health at Public Health England\, which has rapidly expanded its gl
 obal engagement. Neil will reflect on the evolution of global health durin
 g his time working internationally\, looking at the changing nature of aid
  and the mutual benefit that comes from developing strong international pa
 rtnerships. He will set out how Public Health England’s new Global Healt
 h Strategy aims to strengthen global networks and collaboration\, strength
 en global health security and support action against major global threats
