DESCRIPTION:On January 31st\, Trinity Politics Society is thrilled to be c
 ollaborating with the Trinity College Feminism Society to host a panel dis
 cussion on harassment of women in the workplace and the ILO Convention on 
 Violence and Harassment in the World of Work. Exploring this topic will be
  two representatives from ActionAid UK\, Dame Athene Donald\, and Valerie 
 Gibson.\n\nActionAid is an organization that is committed to empowering di
 sadvantaged women and girls. Their work focuses on providing long-term sol
 utions to violence and poverty and involves developing relationships with 
 communities most in need of aid. In the event of humanitarian crises\, Act
 ionAid believes in empowering local women to rebuild their own communities
 . \n\nDame Athene Donald is the master of Churchill College\, Cambridge an
 d has published over 250 papers in the fields of soft matter and the inter
 action between biology and physics. Due to her lifelong commitment to work
 ing towards gender equality at Cambridge and in academia\, she was awarded
  the Times Higher Education Lifetime Achievement Award. Between 2010 and 2
 014\, she served as the first University Gender Equality Champion.\n\nVale
 rie Gibson\, University Professor\, Head of the Cavendish’s High Energy 
 Physics Research Group\, and current University Gender Equality Champion\,
  is an advocate for women in science. Her work in the Cavendish Laboratory
  helped it to achieve an Athena SWAN Gold Award in 2014. She is also Chair
  of the LHCb Collaboration Board and a member of the Atom Interferometer O
 bservatory and Network project. \n\nThis panel of representatives will dis
 cuss the topic and then open up the floor to a Q&A. As always\, drinks and
  nibbles will be provided!
