DESCRIPTION:Radio interferometry probes astrophysical signals through inco
mplete Fourier measurements. We propose new generic imaging techniques bas
ed on convex optimization in the context of compressed sensing. The flexib
ility of the framework notably allows introduction of prior information on
the signals\, which offers the possibility of significant improvements of
reconstruction relative to the standard matching pursuit algorithm CLEAN
used in radio astronomy. We illustrate the potential of the approach by s
tudying\nreconstruction performances on simulations of a star and galaxy i
ntensity field and of a signal induced by cosmic strings in the CMB temper
ature field\, observed with very generic interferometric configurations.
