 nnovation Seminar Series has a series of brilliant speakers who are at dif
 ferent stages in their Innovation and Entrepreneurship journey.\n\nWe are 
 delighted to host Dr Carmen Palacios-Berraquero\, co-founder and CEO\, Nu 
 Quantum Ltd as our first speaker of the 2020-21 Innovation Seminar Series.

 alacios-Berraquero\, CEO and co-founder of Nu Quantum Ltd\n\nAbout the Tal
 k\nCarmen will speak about her journey from a PhD student to an entreprene
 ur. She will share her experience what it takes to be an science entrepren
 eur\, how well it has worked and what has been challenging. Nu Quantum jus
 t raised £2.1m for its quantum technology.\n\nAbout the Speaker\nCarmen i
 s the Chief Executive of Nu Quantum Ltd\, founded the company in late 2018
 \, and has since raised several million pounds in financing from a stellar
  portfolio of investors\, in addition to having designed and been awarded 
 several high-profile government projects in collaboration with over 40 ind
 ustrial and academic partners across the UK. Carmen is the inventor of the
  technology underlying the single-photon sources commercialised by Nu Quan
 tum\, product of her PhD research carried out at the Cavendish Laboratory.
  She is now leading the growth of the company\, building a world-class mul
 tidisciplinary team in Cambridge.\n\nAbout the Seminar Series\nThis series
  of seminars happens monthly and speakers will present their ideas and exp
 eriences on how innovation impacts their endeavours.\n\nWe have a varied l
 ist of speakers\, from academics turned in to entrepreneurs all the way to
  established companies.\nThe format is a 45 minute talk\, followed by Q&A.
