DESCRIPTION:A subclass of hybrid systems that has been arousing interest f
 rom researchers in the last years is that of switched affine systems. Thei
 r dynamic equations\, presenting a discontinuous affine dependence on the 
 state and no other control input than the switching signal\, can model sev
 eral devices in power electronics\, such as DC-DC converters. The main mot
 ivation of employing switched systems theory for controlling these devices
  relies upon minimizing switching losses and improving performance. In thi
 s talk\, an overview is given on some important theoretical results and fu
