DESCRIPTION:Corrosion products formed upon exposure of iron/steel to carbo
n dioxide are highly susceptible to environmental changes\, such as soluti
on removal\, exposure of oxygen. So\, to understand the vulnerable nucleat
ion process\, it is crucial to observe this reaction from its early stages
in solution in-situ. We use transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to stu
dy this reaction\, using a commercially available liquid holder cell. This
cell allows us to explore the various capabilities of TEM under wet react
ive conditions and observe the reaction as it occurs.\n\n
