 e: 654610\n\nIn this talk\, I explore a task called feedback comment gener
 ation for\nlanguage learners. It is a task of generating explanatory notes
  or\nhints facilitating writing learning. To begin with\, through my perso
 nal and\nresearch experiences\, I discuss how difficult English can be for
 \nnon-native speakers of English\, especially\, for those whose mother\nto
 ngue is a genetically unrelated language (e.g\, Japanese) (for\ninstance\,
  I had a hard time to determine which is better\, "based\non/through my ex
 perience/experiences"\, and am still not quite sure).\nFeedback comments h
 elp learners understand why their writings are not\ngood together with und
 erlying rules. Following this\, I talk about\nseveral generation methods t
 ogether with the datasets for research in feedback comment generation. I c
 ompare these generation methods to\ndiscuss their advantages and disadvant
 ages. Finally\, I summarize the\ntalk with promising future directions.
