DESCRIPTION:Gromov-Witten invariants are notoriously hard to compute\, and
  despite much work\, we currently lack a good understanding of how Gromov-
 Witten invariants change under blowups. \nOn the other hand\, we have a re
 latively good understanding of Gromov-Witten invariants of complete inters
 ections in toric varieties and Grassmannians\, thanks to theorems by Given
 tal and Ciocan-Fontanine-Kim-Sabbah. I will show that under favorable circ
 umstances we can fit blowups in this framework\, which allows us to write 
 down explicit generating functions for Gromov-Witten invariants of these b
 lowups. \nThis is joint work with Tom Coates and Qaasim Shafi.\n \n
