 ch mathematicians? In this talk we discuss the results of our recent Natur
 e paper\, where we work together with top mathematicians to use machine le
 arning to discover and prove a new connection in topology\, and conjecture
  a resolution to a 50-year problem in representation theory. We believe th
 at there is a lot of low hanging fruit to be found by working together wit
 h pure mathematicians to make new discoveries.\n\n*Bio:* Alex Davies compl
 eted his PhD under Zoubin Ghahramani in 2014 and has previously worked on 
 a musical\, as a machine learning consultant to product teams and lecturer
  for Google Research and launching one of the first ML systems in the core
  of Android OS. For the last three years he has led the AI + Maths initiat
 ive at DeepMind.
