this talk\, I will draw on the available evidence to discuss what is known
about the impacts of the pandemic on the mental health of children and yo
ung people\, including the acute and chronic effects of Covid-19 illness\,
the impact on at-risk groups\, and access to mental health services and e
ducation during the pandemic\n\nTamsin Ford is a Professor of Child and Ad
olescent Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses o
n the effectiveness of interventions and the efficiency of services in rel
ation to the mental health of children and young people\, with a particula
r focus on the interface between education and health systems. She complet
ed her PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry\, Kings College London and set u
