DESCRIPTION:Platform Technologies for Stem Cell Research: 26 February 2009
\, Cambridge \n\nIn association with the Laboratory for Regenerative Medi
cine\, University of Cambridge \n\nJoin us for the first in a series of me
etings aimed at exploring the latest technologies and techniques available
to stem cell researchers. The goal is to give research scientists the opp
ortunity to hear from experts who are using key platform technologies rele
vant to regenerative medicine/stem cell applications and to give commercia
l suppliers the opportunity to interact directly with users of their equip
 ment. \n\nSponsors: UKTI \n\nExhibitors: Chip-Man Technologies\, Cambridge
  Bioscience\, Sigma-Aldrich\, Helena Biosciences\, The Automation Partners
 hip\, PAA Laboratories\, ThermoFisher Scientific\, TissueGnostics\, Abcam\
 , StemCell Technologies\, Becton Dickinson\, Beckman Coulter UK \n\nCost:
 \nAcademics - free \nCommercial delegates - £50 \n\nSessions: \n\n1. Live
cell imaging \n\n2. Cell sorting\n\n3. Proteomics \n\n4. Transcriptional
profiling and sequencing \n\nEach session will be opened with a presentati
on by an academic expert in a specialist technical area describing the ins
trumentation and techniques they use\, why they are useful\, why they chos
e that technology\, and how they would like the technology to develop. The
academic presentation will be followed by presentations by 2-3 commercial
suppliers of relevant equipment/instrumentation. There will be an exhibit
ion by suppliers at the breaks.\n\nSpeakers: \n\nDr Michael D. Wilson\, Ph
D - Regulatory Circuitry Group\,Cancer Research UK Cambridge Research Inst
itute\nDr Jonathon Pines PhD FMedSci - The Gurdon Institute\nDr Rachael Wa
lker - Wellcome Trust Centre for Stem Cell Research \nDr Kathryn Lilley -
