 nville and Caius College and research associate at the department of histo
 ry\, University of Cambridge. His research lies at the intersection of imp
 erial history\, the history of South Asia (and its borderlands)\, the hist
 ory of science\, environmental history\, and historical geography. It cent
 res on colonial knowledge of space\, environment\, and people during the l
 ong nineteenth century\, looking especially at how information was produce
 d\, communicated\, and contested in 'field sciences' such as cartography a
 nd anthropology.\n\n\nJoin us to hear about his current research project '
 Making Climate History' which is examining changing understandings of clim
 ate across various scientific disciplines and diverse sites around the glo
 be from c.1780 to c.1980.
